I didn’t realize, we’ve probably seen the last of Sergio. He is in a co ma, unlikely to recover.

Tragic news for the man that most recently saved Chrysler, at least for a bit.

Hadn’t seen that, but not surprising given the statements FCA made when announcing their new CEO. They sounded like they were talking about someone who would soon be dead (or already was). Doesn’t sound like there’s much chance he makes it (and even if he does, “ irreversible brain damage” ).

I figured “shoulder surgery” was code for having some sort of tumor removed... But I figured it was just more invasive than they planed... Coma is not good.

Damn, hadn’t heard that....a shame. A lot of people idn’t agree with all his decisions, but he really did turn over a new leaf for FCA while it was under his control. There will be many sweaters waiting for him in heaven. Godspeed Mr. Marchionne...

And stuffing big engines into everything you could get your hands in, despite the odds being constantly stacked against you.

Most CEOs are replaceable suits, with few execptions. He was an exception.
Man, this also got me wondering what state Schumacher’s in, these days. I hope they both get/got nothing but comfort and love. The bodies we have are so resilient, and so fragile.

With regards to sergio as a CEO, I never understood his fascination with merging with GM and his actions regarding his stances for how to treat the Am erican brands. Honestly, I think he did his best but not even Chrysler knew what to do with CHrysler and he just spun it as an impassionate shrug.
With regards to Sergio as a human being with a family and loves ones this is tragic. My heart goes out to those close to him as this all seems to be coming as a surprise. It seems he really didn’t want others to know too much and went out of his way to do as much as he could before this caught up to him. I hope if he recovers, he can walk away from this job with confidence he gave it his all and not be afraid to leave it behind during his recovery. It’s probably the last thing he needs right now.

Oh... that’s really awful. It’s really sad it’s unlikely that he will get to enjoy his retirement with his wife and 2 kids.

Well, they weren’t wrong. Reuters reports that he passed away.
